closet visit: rachel dewey

April 5, 2012

i am pleased to say that my friend, rachel, is the very first 23 skidoo closet visit!! this post (with more to come) is inspired by the actual blog closet visit. something i loved about visiting rachel’s closet and home is not just seeing what was in her closet, but even more so, i love the way rachel wears her found pieces and items.

when i asked her where she loves to shop the most, she said there isn’t any ONE place, but she basically will buy anything that’s under $10. which, if i may say so myself, she does VERY successfully! i discovered that rachel probably has one of the most diverse closet’s when i would ask where her items would come from. most things are from various thrift stores, honeymoon’s, india (when she lived there for a little while). she likes to think that many of her things have a story behind them, which was proved true every time i asked where something came from!

i can honestly say that rachel’s house is the most AMAZING home i have ever been in. it is so collective and has so much character! her and her husband are both artists so all around the house there are tons of their own paintings, and tons of their sculptures, even a good portion of their furniture is made by them. this one below is a painting that rachel did, then they made this secret jewelry wall holder to hide behind it!

she inspires me so much. what a cool lady. to get more of rachel’s work go to her blog HERE.

i’m very excited for more closet visits to come! i love being inspired by other people and seeing what gets them inspired as well! so much fun!
